Coaxial
Isolators

Our coaxial isolators are engineered for high-performance operation in demanding aerospace and defense environments, combining compact, rugged construction with exceptional reliability.

Featuring magnetic shielding, these devices can operate in close proximity within ½ inch of other isolators without performance degradation. Available with SMA male/female connectors, customers can select preferred configurations, including custom connector lengths, to meet specific system requirements. Designed to operate across wide temperature ranges, including military standards of -40°C to +85°C, these isolators deliver consistent performance in harsh conditions.

The innovative connector design enables additional tuning within the connector itself, reducing overall housing size while maintaining optimal performance. A one-piece housing further enhances durability, providing superior resistance to vibration and shock. Backed by an extensive design portfolio, we can leverage proven solutions or develop engineered, customer-specific designs spanning UHF through Ku-band frequencies. Options include high reverse power isolators, high peak power devices, and circulator configurations ensuring flexible, mission-ready solutions tailored to your application.

Drop-in
Isolators

Our drop-in isolators are engineered for high-reliability performance in demanding aerospace and defense applications, delivering compact, rugged solutions without compromising efficiency.
Featuring magnetic shielding, these devices can operate in close proximity—within ½ inch of other isolators—minimizing interference and maximizing system density.

Built with a robust one-piece housing, our drop-in isolators offer exceptional durability and resistance to vibration and shock. Supported by an extensive design portfolio, we can quickly evaluate and adapt existing designs or develop engineered, customer-specific solutions across UHF through Ku-band frequencies. Available in high reverse power and high peak power configurations, with circulator versions also offered, these isolators provide flexible, mission-ready performance tailored to your system requirements.

Waveguide Isolators

Our waveguide circulators and isolators are engineered to deliver reliable performance across a broad range of demanding environments, with both high- and low-power designs available to meet diverse system requirements.

Supporting operating frequencies from L-band through Ku-band applications, these components are optimized for low insertion loss, ensuring signal integrity and efficiency in critical RF systems. Purpose-built for aerospace and defense applications, they are designed to perform consistently across wide operating temperature ranges and harsh conditions. Each solution can also be tailored to meet customer-specific requirements, providing the flexibility needed to support unique mission objectives and system configurations.

Microstrip Isolators

Our microstrip circulators and isolators are purpose-built for applications where size, weight, and performance are critical. Featuring a low-profile, low-mass design, they are ideal for phased array T/R module applications where space is at a premium and efficiency is essential.

Their compact, rugged construction ensures reliable performance in demanding environments, while their ability to withstand standard solder reflow profiles supports seamless integration into modern manufacturing processes. Backed by a rich design portfolio, these components can also be customized to meet customer-specific requirements, delivering tailored solutions for even the most complex RF system challenges.

Frequently Asked Questions

TRAK TECOM circulators and isolators cover a broad range of frequencies for various applications in the defense market.  We offer highly customized solutions for high-power and classified programs, including devices with integrated components such as detectors, filters, and couplers.

Yes, by connecting a matched, high-power load (terminating resistor) to the third port of a 3-port circulator, it operates as a two-port isolator.

Frequency Range: The operating bandwidth of the device.

Insertion Loss (IL): Signal loss through the device in the forward direction (ideally very low, e.g., dB).

Isolation: The amount of attenuation in the reverse direction (higher is better, often 20-30 dB+).

VSWR (Return Loss): Indicates how well the ports are matched.

Power Handling (CW & Peak): The maximum power the device can handle without damage.

Circulator (3 Ports): Directs signals in a specific order: Port 1 Port 2, Port 2 Port 3, Port 3 Port 1. Often used as duplexers to share one antenna between a transmitter and receiver.  Isolator (2 Ports): A circulator with the third port terminated with a matched load (50 ohms). It allows signals to pass from input to output but blocks, absorbs, or dissipates backward-traveling reflections into the dummy load, protecting the transmitter.
